Alzheimer's Education Resource Center

Eddy Alzheimer's Services, through our Cogswell Resource Center, provides education, information, care and support to individuals with Alzheimer's disease, and those concerned about them - families, caregivers, professionals and students.

Our educational programs cover a range of topics to help individuals and caregivers, from how to communicate effectively, to getting your legal affairs in order. We also give practical support to families and answers to questions over the phone, in person and in support groups.

Our programs include:

  • Caregiver Support Group -- We offer support groups, held in cooperation with the Alzheimer's Association Northeastern New York Chapter, to families and friends of people with Alzheimer's disease. This group provides a forum for families and friends of those with Alzheimer's to join together and share caregiving concerns and successes. Meetings are held on the first and third Thursday of every month at The Cogswell Resource Center at Eddy Alzheimer's Services, 421 West Columbia Street, Cohoes, NY. For more information, please contact us at, (518) 238-4164.
  • Savvy Caregiver Program -- program designed to provide caregivers with the key skills, knowledge and sense of competence needed for caregiving.
  • Alzheimer's Care Team Program (ACT) -- program provides support and friendship to individuals and families living with Alzheimer's disease or other memory-impairing conditions.
  • Connections Support Group - an early to early-mid stage support group for individuals with Alzheimer's disease, or related dementias, and their care partners.
  • Alzheimer's-Specific Library - We offer a special library with a variety of Alzheimer's materials, including books and videos that are available for use by family members, caregivers and the community.
