The Memorial Hospital Nurses' Alumni Association, Inc offers support and networking opportunities to Memorial Hospital School of Nursing students and its graduates. The support of the Alumni Association is varied and includes support to Albany Memorial Hospital, Julia O. Wells Memorial Education Foundation Scholarship Fund, NYSNA, Nurses House and the Medial Assistance fund.
The Julia O. Wells Memorial Education Foundation Scholarship Fund is named for the 1918 graduate, Julia O Wells, who bequeathed monies to her beloved alumni association. The scholarship is administered by the Julia O. Wells Memorial Education Foundation Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarship opportunities for current students and alumni advancing their nursing education.
The Harriett B. Bahn Award for Nursing Excellence is awarded to one working nursing professional who exhibits qualities in her daily care of the patient.
With donated funds from the families of Henry Sage and Effie Keayes Banks class of 1906, the Sick fund was formed. This is now known as the medical assistance fund which only the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association members are eligible. This endowment was originally intended for the nursing alumni to receive discounted medical care. Over the years the medical assistance fund has evolved and now provides a stipend to eligible Alumni.
