RN Degree

The Registered Nurse (RN) Program

Our Registered Nurse (RN) program will educate and prepare students to become skilled and competent professional nurses. Graduates earn a two-year associates in science degree and are eligible to apply for the National Council Licensure Exam required for licensure as a RN. In addition, graduates of the RN program can pursue a BSN degree at Russell Sage College, SUNY College of Technology at Utica/Rome and other area colleges with junior status in accordance with the individual college's admission standards and curriculum guidelines.

Full- and part-time study

Understanding that today's nursing students have many demands on their time -- family, work, other responsibilities -- we offer both full and part-time study for the RN program. We also offer fall and spring start dates for our RN program.  Please note however, that we do not offer a part-time evening or weekend program.

The gaduate outcomes of the associate degree program are as follows:

The graduate of the associate degree program will:

  I.       Promote, restore, and maintain health and well-being in patients, families, and communities to maximize human flourishing.
II.      Use nursing judgment to provide safe, high quality nursing care to patients, families, and communities.
III.       Demonstrate professionalism that reflects personal accountability, values, integrity, responsibility, and ethical practices.
IV.       Approach nursing practice with a spirit of inquiry to improve the quality of care for patients, families, and communities.
