A tradition of excellence. For more than a century, Memorial Hospital School of Nursing at Albany Memorial Hospital and Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing have provided students with specialized knowledge, practical skills and caring values, preparing them for fulfilling and rewarding careers in nursing.
The demand for well-educated nurses is growing daily. A degree from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing or Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing will open your door to new and exciting career options in all kinds of practice settings -- hospitals, homecare, public health, skilled nursing facilities, occupational settings, primary care centers, and more.
Both schools offer a Registered Nurse (RN) program to educate and prepare students to become skilled and competent professional nurses.
In addition to its RN Program, Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing also offers a Licensed Practical Nurse Certificate (LPN) program.
To enable LPNs to advance into an RN program without unnecessary gaps or duplication of LPN course material, Memorial Hospital School of Nursing is pleased to offer the newly created New York State Practical Nurse (PN) to Registered Nurse (RN) Transition Course.
Since our schools are affiliated with Northeast Health, the region's most comprehensive network of healthcare and community services, students can participate in clinical and observational experiences in a variety of settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, physician offices and daycare centers.
