Every apartment at Hawthorne Ridge has been pre-wired for telephone, cable and high-speed internet access. Hawthorne Ridge provides each resident with a personalized e-mail account.
Our technical staff installs the computer equipment and connection for internet access. They also provide basic personal instruction on use of the computer and scheduled follow-up user and technical support. The resident Information Systems Committee also provides non-urgent basic computer support. Resident computer training classes are offered free of charge.
Hawthorne Ridge has a Resident Portal which provides residents with online, easy access to community information and direct links to radio stations, newspapers and other sites of interest. Residents can also use the Resident Portal to submit a variety of electronic requests including maintenance, computer and telephone work orders, transportation, guest suite reservations and absence forms. Other information posted to the Intranet includes monthly dining and event calendars, meeting minutes from Resident Gatherings, Resident Committees and the Residents Association.
Hawthorne Ridge has two in-house broadcasting channels. These channels are used to broadcast movies and information on upcoming and routine events, resident meeting dates, Administrative notices and other miscellaneous information pertinent to the community.
Some Hawthorne Ridge events, such as the Resident Gatherings, special presentations and guest speakers are video taped so that they can be broadcast at a later date. These broadcasts allow residents the opportunity to view the information presented at events they are unable to attend.
