Innovation and Technology

Our neuro-rehabilitation specialists at Sunnyview pioneer the most effective, groundbreaking approaches to the treatment of neurological disorders through the utilization of innovative treatment modalities and sophisticated technology, including:

  • The Bioness H200 Hand Rehabilitation System that helps individuals with upper limb impairments. Utilizing mild electrical stimulation, the system helps improve the way an individual's arm works, and can help patients get the most out of therapy, as well as reduce complications such as muscle spasms.

  • The Bioness L300 Foot Drop System that assists those with foot drop regain a normal gait. The system uses mild stimulation to help an individual lift his/her foot, so that walking is safer and easier.

  • Lite Gait training for patients with impaired ambulatory ability from a traumatic brain injury (TBI). Lite Gait is a partial weight-bearing gait and balance therapy system that helps promote normal walking patterns by controlling the patient's posture and eliminating concerns for balance.

  • Modified Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy (mCIT) to assist stroke patients to regain use of their affected extremity/arm to complete simple tasks. Current research in mCIT shows it can be an effective rehabilitation technique, yet requiring a dedicated effort on the part of both patient and therapist.
