2012 Clinical Outcomes - Inpatient Brain Injury Program

The Inpatient Brain Injury Program at Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital is proud of its clinical outcomes. In 2012, the program served 239 individuals with brain injury. Realizing it is important to our patients to return home with their loved ones as soon as possible, the average length of stay for our patients was 18.9 days which compares very favorably with other inpatient brain injury rehabilitation programs in the nation and the region. The average number of therapy hours per day for brain injury patients was 3.68.

Over the years, Sunnyview has consistently discharged a greater percentage of individuals with brain injury back to their home and community. This was also true during 2012 when 67.8 percent of our patients returned home to continue their lives, 8 percent greater than other inpatient brain injury rehabilitation facilities in the region.
