A traumatic brain injury can result in problems with movement, communication, memory, vision, and thinking and reasoning skills. Emotional and personality changes may interfere with the patient's ability to successfully interact with others. Family members may have difficulty dealing with changes in their loved one.
Our specialty inpatient unit is staffed by certified rehabilitation nurses trained in brain injury rehabilitation. Throughout the stay, a comprehensive and individualized rehabilitation program helps the patient reach the highest level of functioning and independence. Despite intensive rehabilitation, the patient and family members are often faced with the realization that the individual is not "cured," and that recovery will be a continuing process. For this reason, Sunnyview is recognized as an integrated program for inpatients and outpatients providing a comprehensive continuum of care:
We are proud of our clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
Accredited by CARF (Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) as a Brain Injury Specialty Program.
