Effective 12:01 am on October 1, 2011, Samaritan Hospital will no longer provide maternity services. However, concurrently, Burdett Care Center will become operational to provide residents of the community with high-quality maternity care. Inpatients who are admitted to Samaritan’s maternity department prior to the transition will automatically become patients of Burdett Care Center. Be assured that the transition will be seamless and there will be no interruption in care.
Located on the second floor of Samaritan Hospital, Burdett Care Center will be a separately licensed, specialized birthing hospital with both labor/delivery/recovery/postpartum (LDRP) and labor/delivery/recovery (LDR) rooms. The center also will offer a state-of-the-art surgical suite for C-sections and contraceptive sterilization procedures.
The same physicians, midwives, nursing and other staff who previously provided care at Samaritan’s maternity department will provide care at Burdett Care Center.
