Samaritan Hospital is proud to offer interventional angioplasty with stenting, also referred to as (percutaneous coronary intervention/PCI), bringing this potentially lifesaving procedure to Rensselaer County. Angioplasty is used to open up narrowed or blocked coronary arteries improving blood flow to the heart muscle.

Angioplasty may be used to:

• Improve symptoms of heart disease.
• Reduce damage to the heart muscle caused by a heart attack.
