In spirit of the phrase "you can't really understand another person's experience until you've walked a mile in their shoes," 145 registered walkers participated in the "Walk a Mile in My Shoes" on April 19 at Samaritan Hospital. Many of the participating men walked that mile in women's shoes - demonstrating a willingness to be a courageous partner with women in making the world a safer place.
Approximately $14,000 was raised to benefit the free and confidential prevention education and counseling programs that the Sexual Assault and Crime Victims Assistance Program offers 24-hours a day, everyday. We are dedicated to creating a supportive, caring environment for survivors and their families during their healing process. Our diverse clients include women, children and men of all ages and backgrounds from throughout the community.
