The Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® event follows the old saying, "you can't really understand another person's experience until you've walked a mile in their shoes," by asking participants to literally walk one mile in high-heels. While walking in these shoes is not easy, this event provides a fun and open atmosphere to engage the community in discussing the difficult issues surrounding sexual violence. This event also demonstrates that members of our community are willing and able to be courageous partners in making the world a safer place, while increasing community awareness of our recovery services. Everyone is welcome!
We are absolutely thrilled to be celebrating our 10th anniversary this year! In recognition of this milestone year, we are offering the opportunity to individual walkers and teams to win special, 10th anniversary Walk a Mile in Her Shoes medals. These will be presented to winning participants at Walk a Mile in Her Shoes. We will be giving medals to the first 25 individual walkers to raise $500 or more, and to 125 participants on the first team (or teams!) to raise $2,000 or more. In order to be eligible, you must submit your donations by Friday, April 21st. Contact Lindsey with any questions about this process.
