Samaritan Hospital

Samaritan Hospital opened its doors in 1898, at a time when major clinical and technological discoveries, such as x-rays, the electrocardiogram and new methods of diagnosis and treatment, were dramatically changing the way healthcare could be delivered to the community. First located on Eighth Street in Troy, in the former Troy Orphan's Asylum, the hospital moved to its present location at the corner of Burdett and Peoples Avenues in the early 20th century.

A community hospital with a 238-bed capacity, Samaritan offers a vast range of services, including critical care, ambulatory surgery, maternity, cancer care, women's health and behavioral health services.

Our emergency department, which consistently receives high patient satisfaction scores, is staffed by board-certified emergency physicians though Emergency Medicine Physicans (EMP).
