IV Therapy Services

Eddy Visiting Nurse Association offers safe, high quality infusion therapy with a personal approach to care. Services are provided in the comfort and privacy of the patient's home. Patients who can benefit from home infusion therapy services include people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer, Cystic fibrosis, cardiac illness, osteomyelitis, pneumonia, chronic pain or other diagnoses.

Our IV therapy team consists of skilled registered professional nurses certified in IV therapy. The specially trained home infusion therapy team provides a wide range of services, including IV medication administration on various intravenous therapies; Epidural infusion (infusion to the spine for pain management); venipuncture (bloodwork); insertion of various types of access devices; and patient and family education.

The program offers a comprehensive range of services to patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric. The team coordinates all arrangements for medications and IV equipment.

Eddy VNA offers a complete range of infusion therapy services in the home setting, including:

  • Nutritional therapy
  • Anti-viral therapy
  • Anti-fungal therapy
  • Antiprotozoal therapy
  • Antibiotics
  • Chemotherapy
  • Colony stimulating factors
  • Anti-emetics
  • Hydration/fluid replacement
  • IV immune globulin therapy
  • Pain management
  • Anti-inflammatory therapy
  • Lasix therapy
  • Dobutamine
  • Infusion pumps (portable, pole mount, ambulatory)
  • Vascular access
  • PICC line maintenance (including repair and removal)
  • Catheter clearance

Most infusion therapy services are covered by Medicare, Medicaid, HMOs and many private insurers. An IV specialist is on-call 24-hours a day, 7 days a week.
