The Eddy is the Capital Region’s premier provider of Lifeline, the oldest and largest personal emergency response system in the country.
Lifeline reduces the risk of living alone offering independence and peace of mind to clients and their families. The affordable, two-way communication system provides instant access to an emergency call center staffed by trained professionals, 24-hour a day, seven days a week -- all with the simple push of a button.
Lifeline provides reassurance that someone is standing by, 24/7, to answer calls and provide emergency help when needed. It is ideal for active seniors living alone, people with chronic medical problems, post-operative patients, physically-challenged individuals and new mothers who may need help but are unable to leave their infant unattended.
Lifeline equipment includes a communicator and a small waterproof Lifeline button that can be worn around the neck or wrist. Whenever help is needed, the subscriber simply pushes the personal help button which automatically activates the communicator to dial Lifeline's centralized response center. A sensitive microphone in the communicator unit can pick up the client's voice, allowing a trained professional operator to speak with the subscriber. If there is no response, the operator proceeds to call for appropriate assistance which includes family members, neighbors, friends, emergency personnel, police and fire departments. Lifeline’s AutoAlert Button – Our special AutoAlert button calls for help even when the individual is unable to press the button. Oftentimes after a fall an individual is disoriented, immobilized or unconscious. Motion sensors in the AutoAlert button detect a fall, and place an emergency call if the individual is not upright within 30 seconds. Click here to see how the AutoAlert button works.
Lifeline is affordable – costs include:
