Automated Medication System

Philips Medication Dispenser and Monitoring System (PMD)

Peace of Mind, Convenience, Control and Flexibility

The PMD system offers:

  • Peace of mind: no more wondering if medications were taken on time. It's perfect for individuals who take several prescriptions a day.
  •
  • Convenience: simplifies everyday medication management and is a convenient alternative to hard-to-open pill boxes and vials.
  •
  • Control: improved medication compliance helps prevent unnecessary changes to health or lifestyle.
  •
  • Flexibility: the dosing schedule is set up around individual health needs and preferences. If a subscriber is going out for the day, the PMD's "early dose" feature allows the subscriber to dispense doses ahead of time.
  •

With its built-in monitoring capability, the PMD system fits on a kitchen counter or bathroom vanity and plugs directly into the phone line. If medications aren't dispensed after multiple reminders, caregivers are notified by phone automatically. If the caregiver is not reached, a call center is notified and a PMD support team member follows up. In addition, every 24 hours, the PMD data base "checks in" to the unit and gathers information about the activity that occurred on that day.
