The Eddy is the premier provider of Lifeline, the oldest and largest personal emergency response system in the country, offering state-of-the-art equipment and trained professionals around the clock, every day of the year.
Eddy Lifeline offers independence and peace of mind to clients and their families by creating a safe home environment and providing instant access to communication 24-hour hours a day, all with the simple push of a button.
Eddy Lifeline helps active seniors who live alone, people with chronic medical problems, post-operative patients who want to maintain a link to medical assistance, physically challenged individuals, new mothers who may need help but are unable to leave their infants unattended, and people who are concerned about their safety or security and want personalized assistance.
Lifeline equipment includes a communicator and a personal help button. Whenever help is needed, the subscriber simply pushes the personal help button which automatically activates the communicator to dial Lifeline's centralized response center. A sensitive microphone in the communicator unit can pick up the client's voice, allowing a trained professional operator to speak with the subscriber about the kind of assistance needed. If there is no response, the operator proceeds to call for appropriate assistance which includes family members, neighbors, friends, emergency personnel, police and fire departments.
For individuals with limited physical abilities, patients can choose from a selection of electronic switches specially designed for minute movements -- a roll of the head, a blink of the eye, or a puff on a straw -- to activate the transmitter which instantly sends a radio signal to the Lifeline monitoring center.
